Civil Society Union Flowers Social Security DG for Modern Regional Hub Construction in Bomi

IPNEWS – Monrovia: National Civil Society Union of Liberia (NACSUL) is commending the Director General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Mr. Dewitt von-Ballmoos for the construction and subsequent dedication of a modern regional hub in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

The construction of the hub, which is valued over US$400,000, started three years ago in 2018 when President George Manneh Weah ascended to the highest office. The hub was dedicated by the President during his second leg of his citizens engagement tour in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, on March 23, 2021.

In a release, NACSUL president Amos B.S. Kanneh said the innovation and creativity exhibited by Director General von-Ballmoos will now ease the many challenges pensioners in that region face coming down to Monrovia just to get their pension benefits. β€œThey will now be served right at the hub,” Kanneh added.

Kanneh further described the move by Director-General von-Ballmoos β€œa way of taking social security to the ordinary people.” He urged the management team von-Ballmoos to extend such brilliant initiative to other regions including the Southeast, where citizens find it difficult to commute to Monrovia for transactions especially during the Rainy Season, which soon to begin.

The new regional hub in Tubmanburg consists of residences, offices, commercial banking institutions, etc, that will provide variety of services to the citizens in that part of the country.

The commendation by the NACSUL leader follows the institution’s regular assessment and fact-findings visit to that part of Liberia, which comprises of Bomi, Grand Cape Mount and Gbarpolu Counties.

NACSUL at the same time challenged other officials of government to emulate the exemplary role of the NASSCORP boss to positively impact the lives of ordinary citizens; adding: β€œNACSUL sees public service as a call to service and not to amass wealth at the detriment of the masses.”

Meanwhile, NACSUL has reaffirmed its support to working with the management team at NASSCORP in order to move President George Manneh Weah’s Pro-poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD) forward.
