“Report on Liberia’s Level 4 COVID-19 Status Declaration is Premature”, Health Minister Wilhelmina Jallah declares

IPNEWS: Liberia’s Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah describes as “Premature” latest U.S. Center for Disease Control report on Liberia’s Covid-19 status

Dr. Jallah made the statement barely days after the United States center for disease control and Prevention admonished U.S citizens and other travelers to avoid making trip to Liberia, as a result of the surge of Coronavirus cases in the country.

Addressing the Ministry of Information press briefing Thursday, Dr. Jallah noted that the latest U.S CDC report on Liberia’s health crisis was prematurely done.

She stated that the ministry of health sees the release as a means of criticizing the Liberian government in the fight against Covd-19, while terming as unfortunate for the U.S CDC to have placed Liberia at level 4 which is the highest risk level as per the center for disease control ranking.

At the same time, Dr. Jallah is calling on members of the Coalition for Democratic Change Council of Patriots to abandon their planned protest against Senator Darious Dillion, stating that it would undermine the fight against covid-19 in the country if they are allowed to protest.
