Samuel Wlue Succumbs to Mulbah Morlue’s Threats; Reverses Dillon’s Appointment as Director of Port & Border Entry

IPNEWS – Monrovia: The Minister of Transport, Mr. Samuel A. Wlue, who is a very senior member of the Executive Branch of Government, has bowed to the pressure of Mr. Mulbah Morlu, the Chairman of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and a low-ranking member of the national governing structure.

On Friday, March 19, at a press conference, Morlu demanded that the Transport Minister reverses a higher appointment of Mr. Oliver P. Dillon or must be ready to, what he termed, “face consequences of revolutionary actions.”

Oliver is the younger brother of Senator Abraham Darius Dillon, a staunch critic of the President George Weah-led government.

Min. Wlue, whom by law is not answerable to Morlu, had recently elevated Oliver to Director of Ports and Border Entry. But his appointment has now been rescinded by the “coward Wlue, who has no balls,” as one caller described him on a local morning, radio talkshow.

In the reversal letter from Wlue to Oliver, the Transport Minister wrote: “Pursuant [to] your letter of reassignment as Director of Port and Border Entry, Ministry of Transport, dated March 11, 2021, with reference SAW/M-1/MOT/RL/22/’21, I herewith withdraw your appointment to the position with immediate effect.”

“In view of the above, kindly be informed that this communication supersedes other previous communications.”

When Morlu threatened Wlue that day, he had also warned all cabinet members in the government to desist from “appointing opposition,” and only ensure the appointment of partisans of CDC or risk losing their jobs.

Morlu further stated that appointing non-Cdcians undermines the efforts of the government, without showing or giving any proofs.
