‘Democracy is Patience’,LINU Tells COP; Lauds GOL For Ensuring Civility

IPNews-Monrovia:Opposition Party, the Liberia National Union-LINU, is challenging members of the Council of Patriots-CoP, to remain patient in their pursuit to advancing suggestions for the forward march of the country.

LINU Political leader, Nathaniel Blama, in a conversation with IPNews wonders’ why there were rush in finding an amicable resolution to the many current, economic and political situation facing the nation by members of CoP.

” It baffles me however that when given the platform, when the world’s attention was upon on you, you failed to present or state your grievances.

In time of disagreement amongst ourselves it is important we remember our past and hold fast to the peace and stability we have managed to muster. Democracy demands patience and patience is a virtue of a good citizen.

“We must all exercise patience in our pursuit of a prosperous nation where we all can
strive in our individual endeavors. We have seen the process work and we are seeking to perfect it.”LINU Political leader contended.

Blama stated further that while it is true democracy is ‘when the people are provided a safe space to peacefully assemble and make known to their government their grievances, and their thoughts/feelings on the state of affairs of their nation, it was important to note that the government of Liberia has done nothing to away from allowing it citizens express their aggrieves and dissatisfaction’, However, the unprecedented rush to have these concerns resolve raises eyebrows on the true intend of the just ended June 7 Protest led by the Council of Patriots-CoP.

“We must remember to hold peace as our common denominator as the process ensue.

“Keeping Liberia peaceful is the responsibility of all Liberians, unsatisfied and satisfied
alike. With this I once again thank the Liberian people and reiterate that keeping Liberia peaceful is the responsibility of all Liberians.Hon. Nathaniel Blama, Political leader of LINU concludes.
