Indian community Makes Big Drugs & Medical Supplies Donation to MOH

IPNews-Monrovia: The Indian community in Liberia, which is known for philanthropic work, contributed medicines and testing equipment to the Ministry of Health on the eve of 172ndΒ  Independence Day.
Association of Indian Community in LiberiaΒ  (AICL) under the guidance of its President Rohiet Suji organized the event with voluntary contributions from its members.
AICL led by its Acting President Mr Pradeep Babani along with Mr Laxman Bojwani(Pioneer Member and Former Vice President of AICL), Mr Shankar Jhamnani(Pioneer Member and Former Vice President of AICL),Mr Pradeep Sachdev(Executive Member)Mr Manoj Dadlani(Executive Member) and Mr Baiju Sanchari(Active Member)Β  met Dr.Francis Kateh (Deputy Minister), Madam Norwu Howard (ADM Deputy Minister),Madam A.Vaifee Tulay(Planning) and other delegates from Health Ministry.
The AICL activities of community service in Liberia are inspired by one of the ancient Indian sayings,Β  “Vasudev Kutumbakam”, which means the world is one family . It implies that ‘each one should care for the other’. It is similar to the quintessentially African concept of ” Ubuntu” which epitomizes coexistence and mutual dependence for coexistence.
It may be recorded that in recent past, AICL organized a series of community-focused events examples being the orphanage charity,Β  Christmas-eve charity work, distribution of school Kits, annual sports day, women-centric welfare programmes in collaboration with Liberia Red Cross etc.AICL will continue to discharge its social responsibilities with the cooperation of the Liberian Government.
AICL thanked the people and government of Liberia particularly the Liberian President H.E George Maneh Weah.
Acting President of AICL Mr Pradeep Babani said
“I would like to convey my deep gratitude for sparing your valuable time, first of all I wish you and Liberia a very Happy Independence Day from the entire Indian Community, We are here to contribute some medical kits and testing machines for the health sector and here to assure our full support in future also as per best of our ability.
Mr Shankar Jhamnani(Pioneer Member and Former Vice President) in the presence ofΒ  Deputy Minister Dr Francis Kateh, Dep Min. ADM Sis Norwu Howard, Dep Min Varfee Tulay, AlCL Honor to be there as members of Indian Community, in solidifying the government of Liberia Pro-Poor Agenda, for development and prosperity, by the provision of the much-needed drugs and medical supplies.
” I will like to give thanks to Government of Liberia Headed by his Excellency George Weah, Hon. Minister of Health, Dr Jallah and her able team who are working hard to uplift the lives of Liberians and provide quality health care system to each and every person.
” I bring greetings from AICL and it’s members on the eve of July 26. We are grateful to identify with Liberia. We feel this is our home and Liberians are our families and we have lived here for so many decades together as Brothers and sisters.” Mr Shankar Jhamnani said.
The Indian community in Liberia has continued to work for hands in hands with Liberians in time of crisis or emergencies.
Speaking further on behave of the Indian Community, Mr Shankar Jhamnani expressed hope that the drugs will be used and distributed to compliment the government of Liberia health care delivery efforts.
“In view of this time, we feel that there is need of some essential drugs with to treat Malaria, hypertension, diabetic analgesic IV, fluid, etc, to assist some clinics.
Mr Jhamnani expressed gratitude to health Ministry officials for accepting the contribution and assured the government of Liberia it’s endeavouring commitment to future assistance in case of any emergency.
MrΒ Shankar Jhamnani, the proprietor of the Lucky Pharmacy in Liberia, is recorded as being one of the outstanding Indian businessmen who continues to provide quality drugs and medical supplies, including equipment on the Liberian market for over two decades now.
