Weah Dreams of New Monrovia City -Visits Island In Mesurado River

By Mark B. Newa

IPNews-Monrovia , Liberia -27 March 2018:The government of the Coalition for Democratic Change has unveiled a dream to construct a new city for the people of Liberia.

President George Manneh Weah made the disclosure Monday, March 26, 2018 after he toured the Medurado River that lies between Bushrod Island and mainland Monrovia.

According to him, the construction of a conference center/theater will be the first project that is expected to be undertaken by the Indian community in Liberia along with the government of |India.

He said upon completion the hall will be named in honor of Mahama Ghandi, India`s most revered leader that led many reforms against the British rule following World War II.

Even though the cost of the project remains unknown, pundits are saying that the President has to be careful because there are reports that the West, especially the United States of America used the island during World War II, and it is not clear who are the legitimate owners.
