Ylatwen Citizens Regret Not Voting Sen. Chie in 2014 .. Pledge support

IPNEWS-Grand Kru County: Citizens of Ylatwen , in Wedabo Statutory District Grand Kru County have expressed their regret for not supporting the Senatorial bid of Grand Kru County Senator Albert T. Chie during the 2014 Special Senatorial Elections.

Senator Chie was overwhelmingly elected in the 2014 Elections , and subsequently voted based on a consensus by majority members of the Liberian Senate as President Pro-Tempore of that Body in 2018.

Visiting the district yesterday as part of his County tour, the Ylatwen People in a position statement said despite not voting for Senator Chie , he has over the years proven his love for the people of Grand Kru through his numerous projects and self-help initiatives.

β€œ Honorable Pro-Tempore, we the people of Ylatwen want to in this opening manner apologize to you for not supporting you in 2014. We say this because, you have not neglected our district. Your development is beyond borders” Chief Paul H. Dortu read on behalf of the District.

The Citizens in their position statement said, going forward they will stand and buttress the development efforts of the Pro-Temp for the greater good of the County.
They further pledged their support to subsequent Political endeavor of their Senator.

In response, President Pro-Tempore Chie lauded the Ylatwen People for the whelm reception and called on the citizens to work collectively in the best interest of the County.

He said: β€œ My people mentioned voting business, that is behind us long time, it is not possible for everyone to vote for you. Some of the areas I am carrying on projects, I got zero votes. I have not done projects here because I been moving from place to place, but rest assure I will do project here”.

According to Senator Chie, every part of the County he visit the first concern from the people is road, followed by lack of school and employed teachers, health facility, safe drinking water amongst others.
Chie promised, the citizens that he has taken note of their concerns, and will in due course address the pressing ones.

Since arriving in the County on February 7, Pro-Temp Chie has visited almost all cities, towns and villages holding meetings to listen and address most of the needs of the people.
His visit is also in preparation of President George M. Weah visit to Grand Kru as part of his County tour.
